This religion is practised based on a concrete historical events that took place 2000++ years ago.Jesus is the one whom believers recognise more than a preacher or prophet.Christian known him as the Christ,Son of God sent to save the world.He is the fulfilment of the prophecies in the old Hebrew scriptures(Old Testament in bible)
In accepting Jesus,the person also accept the uncondition love of God,not in abstract terms but in a fully human way.God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,so that evryone who believe in him may not perish but may have eternal life(John 3:16)This the the famous quote in the bible about Jesus.
Believer gather in Church to remebmer the sacrifice of Jesus,to ponder the love of God in scriptures and the share love with the others in lives shared in humble service and works of mercy,justice and peace.
This religion is divided into many sect or they prefer to call it tradition.Anglican,Evangleical,Catholic, lutheran,Methodist,Orthodox,Pentecostal and Presbyterian.But Jesus is still the spotlight.
There exists in Christianity a certain tension between proclaiming Jesus as the one,unique Savoiur of the World and respecting the presence of God in lives,culture and religious faith of other people.
